FInally after a 9 month wait Harkaway Daisy and Quince are in NZ quarantine and due out of the 30th of January. In the words of the IRT staff they have yet to see two gypsy horses more impressive, gorgeous, taller and wider than these two gals. They were more than suitably impressed. Don't miss a rare opportunity to come and see both Daisy and Quince as well as the famous Mr. Beau Jangles at our open days in Auckland, Paeroa, Hawkes Bay and the Manawautu. DNA Confirmed Parentage
After a very long wait we finally have DNA confirmation that Chocolate Truffles, dam of Chantilly Lace is a comfirmed daughter of the famous "The Business" aka "The Boss", and "The Chocolate Palomino". The Business was an extremely heavy 14.3 solid silver dapple horse that is probably the sire or grandsire to most of the silver dapple horses around today. He was the grand daddy of them all and my daughter and I had the pleasure of meeting him personally in 2005 just before he left for Europe then America. Very impressive stallion and why we mated Treasure with him before she flew south to NZ. He is now dead making his progeny that more sought after.

Gypsy Vanner or Gypsy Cob?
There seems to be a lot of confusion as to which name is right. Both Gypsy Vasnner and Gypsy Cob do refer to the same type of horse but here at BGV, we feel that “gypsy cob” is far too generic of a title for this magnificent horse. Some argue that gypsy cob is the traditional name that the Gypsy’s themselves have created, but this is only a myth. To learn more why we call our horses “Gypsy Vanners” and how to establish this type as a breed then please readon.
